Trio Marilys

Founded in 2019, Trio Marilys brings a unique color to vocal music through its unusual instrumentation. Oboist David Walter, soprano Hélène Walter, and pianist Marina Saiki are dedicated to rediscovering forgotten women poets and composers, enriching their repertoire with contemporary creations and transcriptions by David Walter. The trio highlights the poetry of Renée Vivien by setting her verses to music.

Their debut album Souveraines was released by DaVinci Classics in 2025.

Avec Julien Beautemps

Since the duo’s formation in late 2024, they have performed at prestigious festivals such as the Festival de la Grange de Meslay and La Folle Journée in Tokyo, and they regularly seek out new audiences.

Their program, “Eastern Wind Over Paris,” captures a vibrant cultural spirit through the unexpected pairing of accordion and piano—“with or without straps”—as they journey through classical masterpieces such as The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns, along with many other surprises at the crossroads of Japanese, Russian, and French music.

In 2025, they are touring in Belgium and France, with notable performances at Bozar in Brussels and Les Musicales de Bormes.

The year 2025 marks a double milestone for French music: the 150th anniversary of Maurice Ravel’s birth and the 190th of Camille Saint-Saëns. These two giants, each of whom shaped their era and paved the way for distinct stylistic movements, will be celebrated in an exceptional program performed by Maya Levy and Marina Saiki.
